Since the CDL website launched, our approach to website design has evolved. We now explore several distinct directions up front, giving clients a clearer way to compare approaches before deciding what to build.
|
|
We're extending this approach to existing ANTE clients whose websites were built under our earlier process, and we've started with CDL. Rather than simply telling you what's changed, we wanted to demonstrate it using your own website.
|
|
We've prepared an upgrade based on your current website, at no charge, alongside three new directions that explore alternative ways of presenting your research. Each is a fully responsive prototype you can explore on desktop and mobile.

THE UPGRADE

An upgraded version of your current website
|
|
|
|
Still clearly your site. The same colours, typefaces, video hero and section order, with the carousels replaced by a clear publications grid and a team section that shows everyone at once.
|
|
The changes focus on making research easier to browse, the team easier to see, and publications easier to keep up to date.
|
|
Free for CDL. Your site only launched last year, so this upgrade is at no charge.

NEW DIRECTIONS

Three new directions
|
|
These show the new process in action: three different starting points for the same content, each with its own character.
|
|
|
|
Calm and structured
|
|
|
|
A clear, restrained layout in ETH Blue, with the FlexMaps Pavilion leading. Publications are presented as a practical list, with direct links to each paper's PDF, code and project.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Bold and photographic
|
|
|
|
A dark, photographic direction that brings the physical side of your research to the foreground. The hero uses your own footage of a tensile prototype being assembled, followed by a Built work section showcasing the research in practice.
|

|
|
|
|
Bright and visual
|
|
|
|
A lighter, more colourful direction led by your own renders, starting with Generative Whimsy Jigsaws and followed by a spotlight on your newest paper.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
You don't have to pick any of these. If you'd rather keep your site as it is, that's completely fine. We'll keep them online until the middle of next year, so there's plenty of time to look through them and discuss them with the team.
|
|
If one of the new directions appeals, it comes at a special rate for existing clients.
|
